Library Sections

Acquisition Section

The Acquisition Section collects requests for books from the Departments HODs and faculty, interacts and places orders with the selected suppliers, accessioned the procured books and transfers them to the Technical Processing Section for classification, cataloguing, indexing and database entry.

Certain books are received as Gift from different national and international sources.

Circulation Section

Circulation section is the gateway between users and documents so it plays a major role to any Library. KITSW Central Library Circulation Section performs issue, renewal, return of books using Home based software. Apart from these basic task many other jobs like membership registration, issue no-dues certificate, overdue fine collection, etc. and all kind of queries by the users are being performed by this section.

All the KITSW employees, students and faculties are eligible for library membership. Central Library Registration Form is available at library.

3. Overdue Charges

A borrowed books should return within the due date, otherwise one rupee (Rs.1/-) per day per book will be collected from the user as overdue charge.

Fines for Lost Books

If an user lost his library book he/she has to

  • -- Replace the lost book by a new book as per the library regulations.

  • -- Pay the current price of the lost book.

REFERENCE SECTION

The section contains reference books such as Encyclopedias, Dictionaries, Directories, Handbooks, Bibliographies, Atlases, and Data Books. These are to be referred within the Library premises, but are not for lending. A copy each of the prescribed textbooks and other recommended books are kept in the Text Book collection and these are to be referred on the Library premises only. A separate Reading Hall for Reference and Textbooks is provided with a seating capacity of 150 members.

The Library receives about 162 National journals & International Journals 26 Magazine and 12 News Papers of Telugu & English. All the current periodicals or displayed on the periodicals racks.

Technical Processing

Technical Processing Section plays a key role to function the library. It makes a bridge between the acquisition of documents to the Circulation. The Technical Processing Section of KITSW Central Library also plays a vital role to run the functioning of this library services smoothly. Classification of books following DDC latest edition.

ID Cards Division

The Central Library is providing Bar-Coded Identity Card with unique ID to all the Students, Research Scholars, Faculty and Staff of KITSW and this ID number is used for all transactions including hall ticket number in the office of the Director, Evaluation. The centre has purchased necessary equipment like Bar-Coded ID Card printer (Dual side), Software, Scanners to print the ID Cards.

Department Libraries

Books are also available with departmental libraries for immediate consultation of the faculty/students/research scholars and staff.
